In what's become a running theme this season, the Montour Spartans gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Avonworth, posting a 65-38 victory at home. Winning may never get old, but Montour sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Montour was led to victory by Ama tening Sow and Jake Wolfe. Sow dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Wolfe scored 25 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wolfe has scored at least a third of Montour's points. Daniel Batch was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Montour's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Avonworth, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Montour will head out on the road to face off against Quaker Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Montour knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Quaker Valley likes a good challenge. As for Avonworth, they will be playing at home against Brentwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Avonworth is coming into the game with four straight defeats at home, meaning Brentwood will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
