Gray Collegiate Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Dreher on Monday. The War Eagles blew past the Blue Devils 11-1. The result was nothing new for the War Eagles, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Cameron Southern was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, JP Sweatt was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Judson Decell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Gray Collegiate Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Gray Collegiate Academy's record now sits at 13-10. As for Dreher, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gray Collegiate Academy will take on Cheraw at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the War Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dreher, they will challenge A.C. Flora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
