The Spring Lions can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They really took it to Aldine for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-45 victory at home. Winning may never get old, but Spring sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Spring was led to victory by Gabby Salazar and Mariah Goodjoint. Salazar scored 20 points, while Goodjoint scored 23 points. Za'Kenya Thompson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
When it comes to explaining why Aldine lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aniyah Bevly. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bevly has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Porsha Daniels, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Spring is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. As for Aldine, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-24.
Spring will challenge Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eisenhower will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1117th, while Spring is ranked 187th). As for Aldine, they will be playing in front of their home fans against MacArthur at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
