Baseball Recap: Zion Christian Makes It Nine in a Row on the Road

Zion Christian won the last time they faced West Michigan Aviation Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mountaineers were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over West Michigan Aviation Academy. Considering the Mountaineers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Zion Christian's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Kloosterman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another was Zack Wierenga, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Zion Christian's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for West Michigan Aviation Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Coincidentally, Zion Christian and West Michigan Aviation Academy will both be playing Lee the next time they take the field. The Mountaineers will host the Legends at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, while West Michigan Aviation Academy will host them at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
