Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Decatur). Everything went their way against the White River Hornets on Tuesday as Decatur made off with  a  10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Gators considering their two-run performance the  match before.
The result came thanks to  Tyler Buol's shutout, as he gave up just a  hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  hit in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Ethan Flavel was a standout: he got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  home run and three  RBI.  Landon Le was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Decatur  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White River struck out nine times.
The  victory made it two in a row for Decatur and  bumps their season record up to 7-1. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0  runs in those games. As for White River, they now  have a losing record of 3-4.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Decatur is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Jefferson  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (Decatur 1.5, Jefferson 3.2) so any  runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, White River will  challenge  rival Beamer  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
