While Cave City didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by an 11-5 margin over the Calico Rock Pirates on Tuesday. Considering the Cavemen have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Cave City, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Calico Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cave City will venture away from home to take on Melbourne at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cave City's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Melbourne's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Calico Rock will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Viola at 4:00 p.m. on March 31st. Viola has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.2 runs per game on average), something Calico Rock will no doubt try to take advantage of.
