The Waxahachie Indians pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 75-59 to Santa Margarita. Waxahachie has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Parker Jefferson and Isayah Pankey certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Jefferson dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, while Pankey scored nine points along with eight assists and five rebounds. The contest was Jefferson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Brown, who scored six points.
Waxahachie has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Santa Margarita, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Waxahachie is on the road again on Friday and play against Our Lady of Good Counsel at 11:05 a.m. on December 29, 2023. Santa Margarita won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bishop O'Dowd at 2:15 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Bishop O'Dowd knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Santa Margarita likes a good challenge.
