Baseball Recap: Henderson County Comes Up Short

Henderson County started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Breckinridge County. They fell just short of the Fighting Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Colonels were not able to make up for their loss to the Fighting Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Cole Thompson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Henderson County dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Breckinridge County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Henderson County will welcome Trigg County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Breckinridge County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Ohio County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
