Softball Recap: Piedra Vista Has No Trouble Against Cleveland

Piedra Vista won the last time they faced Cleveland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers blew past the Storm 15-4. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

BROOKELYNN CADRAIN was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). CADRAIN was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-6.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on TAQUIRA HOOD, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was RAEGAN LEFEBRE, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Piedra Vista kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Piedra Vista is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Piedra Vista is set to face off against their familiar foe Rio Rancho at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cleveland will take on rival Volcano Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
