The Landrum Cardinals will challenge the High Point Academy Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Landrum knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully High Point Academy likes a good challenge.
Landrum is returning to their home court after beating Chesnee on theirs, despite the fact Chesnee has dominated at home this season. Landrum came out on top in a nail-biter against Chesnee on Friday, sneaking past 74-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since December 3, 2024.

Benett Edwards was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 14 en route to 26 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Noah Dodd, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 19 points.
Landrum smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, High Point Academy's and Liberty's game on Friday was close at halftime, but High Point Academy turned on the heat in the second half with 47 points. High Point Academy put the hurt on Liberty with a sharp 71-46 win. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.
High Point Academy's win came from a few key players Landrum will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaden McNeil, who posted ten points in addition to five assists and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Jerry Jones was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.
High Point Academy's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Landrum, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Landrum has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like High Point Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Landrum might still be hurting after the 76-52 defeat they got from High Point Academy in their previous matchup back in January. Will Landrum have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
