The Independence Falcons posted their biggest win since November 18, 2023 on Friday. Everything went their way against Stockdale as Independence made off with a 54-28 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Independence has posted against Stockdale since January 8, 2016.
Independence was led to victory by Olivia Fletcher and Kaylynn Bolden. Fletcher scored 17 points along with seven steals, while Bolden dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Bolden is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Castaneda, who scored ten points.
Independence's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Stockdale, they bumped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Independence will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Bakersfield Christian at 5:45 p.m. Bakersfield Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Independence likes a good challenge. As for Stockdale, they will head out on the road to take on Garces Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Garces Memorial comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
