Western Buckeye recap November 13, 2013
Kenton extended the longest winning streak in Western Buckeye this week by beating Galion, 58-14. The win marks 11th in a row for the the Wildcats.
Kenton led the league in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on the Tigers. Grant Sherman ran for 14 yards in the win.
Mike Mauk's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Slate Johansen chipped in 17 yards. Kollin Stollar helped Kenton's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 168 yards.
Tristan Altvater provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Wildcats topped Galion. Altvater's key target this week was Justin Sawmiller, who caught 11 passes for 168 yards.
He was 37-51 with 476 interceptions.
Johansen was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 17 yards on 6 carries as Kenton beat Chris Hawkins' team. Teammate Sherman added to the ground attack by rushing for 14 yards.
Kenton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sherman has thrown for 4,062 yards and 53 touchdowns this season, while Sawmiller has 116 catches for 1,816 yards.
The Wildcats led Western Buckeye in points allowed with 14.
