After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Colfax, the Center Cougars were happy to have found some success on Monday. They blew past Lindhurst 75-28 on the road. With Center ahead 47-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Center's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Johnson, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Terrill Reid was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Lindhurst saw an underclassman step up: Angel Gil Martinez scored 12 points.
Center now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Lindhurst, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center on the road again on Wednesday and play against Twelve Bridges at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Twelve Bridges will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Lindhurst, they will head out on the road to challenge Marysville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marysville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lindhurst in California (Marysville is ranked 555th, while Lindhurst is ranked 1386th).
