The Altamonte Christian Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season. They breezed by Liberty Christian Prep at home to the tune of 61-16. Given Altamonte Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Liberty Christian Prep is ranked 397th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Altamonte Christian found their leader in underclassman Khloee Cooper, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. That's the first time this season that Cooper scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Cooper, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Altamonte Christian and bumps their season record up to 9-1. As for Liberty Christian Prep, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altamonte Christian will take on Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday. Liberty Christian Prep is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Christian Learning Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Christian Learning Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
