McQueen is on a four-game streak of home losses, Reed a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The McQueen Lancers will take on the Reed Raiders at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
McQueen suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 51-30 loss to Douglas might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, McQueen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Douglas is ranked ninth).
McQueen's loss came about despite a quality game from Caitlin Hilson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Reed had to suffer through a rough 56-21 loss at the hands of Douglas. Reed has struggled against Douglas recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
McQueen has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Reed, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
McQueen was able to grind out a solid win over Reed in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 49-37. Does McQueen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reed turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
