After flying high against the Florida Christian Patriots last Friday, TERRA Environmental came back down to earth. The match between TERRA Environmental and Homestead wasn't particularly close, with TERRA Environmental falling 36-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for TERRA Environmental in their matchups with Homestead: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, TERRA Environmental still got an impressive performance from Shannon Greene, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, TERRA Environmental struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Homestead pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
Homestead's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayda Fisher, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Ava Ferniza was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
TERRA Environmental's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Homestead, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. TERRA Environmental will take on South Miami at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Homestead, they will be playing at home against South Dade at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Dade will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Homestead is ranked 110th).
