Oakwood is 1-7 against the Bulldogs since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Oakwood Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Milford Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Oakwood lost to the Yellowjackets on the road by a decisive 42-27 margin.
Meanwhile, Milford scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Trinidad 101-46 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-23.
Milford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Newman, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 assists. Newman is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shumon Rogers, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds.
Oakwood has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Milford, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Oakwood came up short against the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in January, falling 62-53. Can Oakwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
