Football Recap: Dexter Starts Season with Win Against Jal

Dexter had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 52-0 win over the Jal Panthers. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Dexter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cj Granados, who rushed for 50 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Granados a new career-high. Alexis Castro was Granados' top target, picking up three receiving yards.

Dexter's run defense was locked in: Jal could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Castro stood above the rest. He rushed for 99 yards on only eight carries. Dexter didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged seven.

Dexter has already played their next contest, a 50-23 victory against West Las Vegas on the 29th. As for Jal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 32-14 defeat against Santa Rosa on the 29th.
