Brown is 1-6 against Moore since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Brown will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Wednesday, Brown beat Doss 20-17.
The team relied heavily on Quinn Gallagher, who went 4-for-5 with ten stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jamison Calloway, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Brown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .653. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Moore was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Bullitt Central, falling 16-2. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Isaac Northern made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Brown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Brown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .547. However, it's not like Moore struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brown skirted past Moore 11-10 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
