Kirkwood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the West Creek Coyote, posting  a  42-0 victory.  Miles Reding had a dynamite game, rushing for 70 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 122 yards and two  TDs. Those  70  rushing yards gave  him a new career-high. Kirkwood also got a significant boost from  Josiah Claybrooks, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Kirkwood's defense and their three sacks.  Parker Keenan was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Kirkwood got some further help from  Korbin Wallace: he picked up  a  sack and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
 Kirkwood has already played their next game,  a  39-14  win against Rossview on the 29th. As for West Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  38-0  defeat against Northeast on the 29th.
