Borrego wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Northbrook was a bit more limited in their game last Friday. They lost 7-1 to Cypress Ridge. The Raiders have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.
Memorial's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Northbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Memorial has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. However, it's not like Northbrook struggles in that department as they've averaged .510. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Memorial's way against Northbrook when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Memorial made off with a 19-1 victory. Does Memorial have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northbrook turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
