The Bangor Slaters will head out on the road to square off against the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bangor is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Bangor got the win against Pen Argyl by a conclusive 62-37. That 25 point margin sets a new team best for Bangor this season.
Meanwhile, Northwestern Lehigh beat Catasauqua 48-41 on Tuesday. Given Northwestern Lehigh's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Catasauqua is ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bangor now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Northwestern Lehigh, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Bangor ended up a good deal behind Northwestern Lehigh when the teams last played back in January, losing 63-48. Can Bangor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
