The Gridley Bulldogs will head out on the road to  challenge  the Corning Cardinals  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Gridley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13  runs per game  this season.

 Kaydenze Pruitt was a  major factor no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those  11  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Delanie Cloyd, who  went 4-for-5 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. She is  on a roll when it comes to  home runs, as she's  now  launched  at least one in each of the last three games she's  played.  Avery Mendenhall was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Gridley  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 19  hits. They are 9-1 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
 Meanwhile, Corning lost  14-7 to Colusa on Wednesday. The Cardinals have struggled against the RedHawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
 Corning's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Gridley, their record is now 9-4.
 Gridley took their  win against Corning  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
