Volleyball Recap: Mar Vista Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mar Vista entered their tilt with El Cajon Valley on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Braves by a score of 2-0. The Mariners have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Braves, too.

Mar Vista had a senior duo take command as Carmina Rendon had six aces and Anissa Smith had seven kills and two aces. Smith is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Mar Vista was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matchups.

Mar Vista's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for El Cajon Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Mar Vista has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Castle Park on the 6th. As for El Cajon Valley, they will head out to square off against San Ysidro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
