Cherryvale is 10-0 against the Yellowjackets since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cherryvale Chargers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Fredonia Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Cherryvale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
Cherryvale's 14-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They suffered a tough 73-53 defeat at the hands of Erie. Cherryvale has not had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Leuie Umbarger, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bricen Raida, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Fredonia had just enough and edged the Blue Streaks out 46-44 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fredonia.
Cherryvale's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Fredonia, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-1.
Cherryvale didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Yellowjackets when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 65-59 victory. Does Cherryvale have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
