The Faith Academy Flames lost against the Live Oak Classical Falcons back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Faith Academy took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Live Oak Classical. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Faith Academy in their matchups with Live Oak Classical: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Faith Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Morgan Weems. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Weems is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenley Virdell, who scored six points.
Live Oak Classical's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julia Pitts, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals. Pitts hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Audrey Pahmiyer was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Faith Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Live Oak Classical, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Round Rock Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Faith Academy will host Round Rock Christian Academy at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Live Oak Classical will head out to face them at 1:15 p.m. on Friday.
