The Savanna Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Western Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Savanna's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
Savanna scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Century on the road to the tune of 86-28. With Savanna ahead 53-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Savanna can attribute much of their success to Paul Henderson, who scored 24 points, and Dontey Henderson, who scored 30 points along with three steals. Henderson hasn't dropped below 15points for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Yousef Zuriegat, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Western had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took down Anaheim 58-44.
Savanna pushed their record up to 10-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.0 points per game. As for Western, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Savanna came up short against Western when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 54-49. Can Savanna avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
