The Selinsgrove Seals lost against the Jersey Shore Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. 2024 welcomed Selinsgrove with a 50-25 loss courtesy of Jersey Shore. Selinsgrove has struggled against Jersey Shore recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Selinsgrove's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gillian Hackenberg, who scored nine points, and Natalie Howell who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hackenberg has scored all season.
Cailyn Schall was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine steals for Jersey Shore. That's the first time this season that Schall scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn McCracken, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Selinsgrove's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-8. As for Jersey Shore, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Selinsgrove will square off against Shikellamy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shikellamy will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Jersey Shore, they will head out on the road to face off against Danville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Danville is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
