The Seagoville Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Conrad Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Seagoville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while Conrad is ranked 305th).
Seagoville fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They beat Poteet on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2.
Seagoville hit Poteet with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Edwin Martinez (2),
Yurem Navarrete, and
Isaac Mata.
Meanwhile, Conrad's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Mesquite. Conrad has struggled against West Mesquite recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Seagoville's win bumped their record up to 2-13-3. As for Conrad, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4-1.
Everything went Seagoville's way against Conrad when the teams last played back in March of 2023 as Seagoville made off with a 4-0 win. Will Seagoville repeat their success, or does Conrad have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
