High school girls basketball: Scoring leaders from the 2022-23 season

California and Kentucky each had three girls finish their high school basketball career with over 3,000 points this past season. They make up six of the top nine on the MaxPreps list of players who scored over 2,000 points in the 2023 season.

Kensley Feltner of Lawrence County (Louisa, Ky.) is the leader in the Class of 2023 with 4,189 points. She was the leading scorer in Kentucky for the past two seasons. She's joined by Miss Kentucky Haven Ford of Rowan County (Morehead, Ky.), who had 3,325 points, and Ellie Heid of Portland Christian (Louisville, Ky.) with 3,057.

Chloe Briggs of Ontario Christian (Ontario, Calif.) finished No. 2 in the nation with 3,474 points. She leads the California trio that includes Jocelyn Medina of Pierce (Arbuckle, Calif.) with 3,131 points and Ari Long of Valley View (Moreno Valley, Calif.) with 3,084 points.

MaxPreps' list of the career scoring leaders from the 2023 season include seniors, juniors, sophomores and even a couple of freshmen. Maddyn Greenway of Providence Academy (Plymouth, Minn.) has 2,306 points entering her sophomore season. She has played three years on the varsity.
