For Holy Cross, this counts as revenge for the 52-41 defeat Incarnate Word Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Holy Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dominic Hernandez led the charge by scoring 12 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Cirlos, who scored 17 points.
Holy Cross is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10.
