The Holy Cross Knights entered their tilt with the Incarnate Word Academy Angels with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Holy Cross came out on top against Incarnate Word Academy by a score of 57-48 on Tuesday. For Holy Cross, this counts as revenge for the 52-41 defeat Incarnate Word Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Holy Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dominic Hernandez led the charge by scoring 12 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Cirlos, who scored 17 points.
Holy Cross is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10.
Holy Cross will stay at home for another game and welcome Geneva at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Geneva is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they will face off against John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
