They were six  points away from ending the streak, but they lost a  60-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Meadville Eagles. The Mustangs lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head  back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the  71-26 score last time.
 It was another big night for  Mason Dennis, who  went 6 of 15  on his way to 21  points along with seven  boards and five  steals for Meadville. Dennis is  on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last four games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Donivan Schreckhise, who  went 5 of 10  en route to 12 points.
Linn County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Meadville, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record  this season.
 Linn County and Mercer will compete for holiday cheer  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meadville will take on Winston in a holiday battle at  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
