The Wheeler Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hickory Flat Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. Hopefully Wheeler focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
Last Friday, Wheeler beat Thrasher 56-45.
Rebekah Mason continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 21 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last seven games she's played. Marley Garrett was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hickory Flat can now relate to. They fell to the Cougars 48-44. Hickory Flat has not had much luck with Blue Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Wheeler is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-15 record this season. As for Hickory Flat, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.
Wheeler strolled past Hickory Flat in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 by a score of 52-35. Will Wheeler repeat their success, or does Hickory Flat have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
