Roman Faiola was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Bell, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Bishop Eustace Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rancocas Valley only posted an OBP of .412.
Meanwhile, Delsea fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Cumberland on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Colts by a score of 10-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Crusaders, who until this contest were averaging 2.44 runs allowed.
Conner Harrison was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Cole Hudson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Dom Montana also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Bishop Eustace Prep and bumps their season record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Delsea, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 17-1.
Bishop Eustace Prep took their win against Delsea in their previous matchup back in April of 2017 by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will Bishop Eustace Prep repeat their success, or does Delsea has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
