Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Sabino's 11th in Last 13 Outings

Sabino never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions 10-0. The Sabercats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

Avery Nielson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alyssa Aguirre was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Mia Acosta was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Sabino has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Sabino has already played their next game, an 18-3 win against Sahuaro on the 25th. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Safford on the 23rd.
