The Twiggs County Cobras can finally bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took down Georgia Military College 42-28. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Twiggs County has managed all season.
Twiggs County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamiyah Glover led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven steals. Jaida Pearson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nickole Rudolph, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Hannah Garner, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Twiggs County's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-20. As for Georgia Military College, they dropped their record down to 1-20 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Twiggs County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Dooly County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Georgia Military College will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
