South Mountain is 4-0 against Browne since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The South Mountain Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Browne Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
While it was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, South Mountain was not quite Camelback's equal in the second half on Friday. South Mountain took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Camelback.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Daquawn Morton, who threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Baqi Taylor, who picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Browne's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They fell to North 20-16.
Like North, Browne lost despite seeing results from several players. Miguel Fierro led the charge by picking up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown.
South Mountain's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. As for Browne, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
South Mountain came out on top in a nail-biter against Browne in their previous meeting back in November of 2020, sneaking past 16-13. Will South Mountain repeat their success, or does Browne have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
