The East Laurens Falcons won the last time they faced the Bleckley County Royals, and things went their way on Tuesday too. East Laurens walked away with a 58-49 win over Bleckley County.
East Laurens' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayla Givens, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Givens has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of McKayela Tanner, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
East Laurens has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Bleckley County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 11-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Laurens will square off against Swainsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Swainsboro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five last Saturday. As for Bleckley County, they will head out on the road to challenge Telfair County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Telfair County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
