It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the James Island Trojans can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Irmo on Friday, falling 34-7. James Island's defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
Irmo was led to victory by Jaden Allen-hendrix and Aaron (AJ) Brand Jr.. Allen-hendrix rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown, while Brand Jr. rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Allen-hendrix has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last 11 times he's played.
James Island's defeat dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Irmo, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
James Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Irmo will take on South Florence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Florence is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
