Amelia Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Kenston Forest Kavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Amelia Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Amelia Academy struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Amelia Academy suffered a rough 46-26 loss at the hands of Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amelia Academy in their matchups with Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Amelia Academy got a solid performance out of Isabella Arbitelle, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 57.7% of Amelia Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Kenston Forest came up short against Tidewater Academy on Tuesday and fell 35-28. Kenston Forest has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Amelia Academy's defeat was their 12th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Kenston Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Amelia Academy ended up a good deal behind Kenston Forest in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, losing 40-22. Can Amelia Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
