Lancaster picked up another tournament win on Thursday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 70-29 stomp they got against the Western Warriors. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 24 points or more this season.
Lancaster got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexis Castillo out in front who posted 21 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Castillo a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Tolbert, who earned 12 points and four steals.
Lancaster was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western only racked up seven assists.
Despite the defeat, Western saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kyra Pace dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Pace is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
The victory made it two in a row for Lancaster and bumps their season record up to 13-1. As for Western, they moved to 6-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
Lancaster didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-46 defeat against Centennial on the 27th. As for Western, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-46 loss against El Diamante on the 27th.
