The Canyon View Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the North Sanpete Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon View is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Canyon View was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 36-32 to Richfield. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Canyon View in their matchups with Richfield: they've now lost six in a row.
Canyon View's defeat came about despite a quality game from Maylee Spencer, who scored ten points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethanee Vargas, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Sanpete took a serious blow against Carbon on Tuesday, falling 76-36. North Sanpete was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-20.
Canyon View's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for North Sanpete, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Canyon View strolled past North Sanpete in their previous meeting back in December of 2017 by a score of 40-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canyon View since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
