The Florala Wildcats will square off against the Elba Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Elba took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Florala, who comes in off a win.
Florala's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Samson 15-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Kennith Dalton Jackson and Noah Bryan made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Jackson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Bryan struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, Jackson gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Jackson went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI, while Bryan scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI Jackson has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ayden Brooks, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Jacob Laura was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Elba didn't have quite enough to beat Pleasant Home on Friday and fell 10-8.
Like Florala, Elba also got a great game from a pair of two-way players: Easton McKelvy. Throwing, McKelvy struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Powell Bane tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, McKelvy scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4, while Bane scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Brady Johnson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Florala's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Elba, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
Florala was able to grind out a solid win over Elba in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 8-4. Will Florala repeat their success, or does Elba have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
