Basketball Recap: Demarius Gregg's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lee Central over Lewisville

After flying high against Riverwalk Academy last Tuesday, Lee Central came back down to earth. The contest between the Lee Central Stallions and the Lewisville Lions didn't end well, with the Lee Central Stallions falling 51-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-26 back in December of 2024.

Lee Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Demarius Gregg, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Gregg a new career-high. LJ Richardson was another key player, putting up five points.

Even though they lost, Lee Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Lee Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Lewisville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lee Central will venture away from home to square off against Great Falls at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Great Falls will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Lee Central surely won't give up without a fight. Lewisville has already played their next contest (against Riverwalk Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
