Mineral County has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Mineral County's loss came despite strong showings from Jayona Kimmins and Jazmin Serrato. Kimmins scored two points along with 14 rebounds and five steals, while Serrato scored five points along with four steals and three blocks. Serrato is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Aleecia Majano was another key contributor, scoring no points along with six steals.
Mineral County has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Smith Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.
Mineral County will head out on the road to take on the Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Pyramid Lake's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Serpents have been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Smith Valley, they and the Scorpions will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Sage Ridge is ranked 75th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 80th).
