After a string of nine wins, Bishop England's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Florence Bruins.

Bishop England got a good showing from Davis Metz, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Metz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop England saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MADDOX MUNZEL, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. WILL RISSMILLER was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Bishop England's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for South Florence, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Bishop England will challenge South Aiken at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Florence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
