It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but East Providence ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Portsmouth Patriots  7-6. The  win was just business as usual for the Townies, who after three games remain undefeated  this season.
 Timothy Robitaille made a big impact no matter where he played. He  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Robitaille was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news, East Providence got a big performance out of  Brian Rutkowski, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Aidan Martins, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
