Skyline scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Herriman, 24-22. At the time, the Mustangs was ranked 24th in the state, while the Eagles was 35th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Skyline, who took down 24th ranked Herriman, 24-22. Tyler Snyder threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 64 yards in the win.
Stephen Marlowe's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nick Greene helped Skyline's passing attack out by catching two balls for 50 yards.
Chris Williams was the best wideout in 4A Region 7 this week as the Eagles defeated Larry Wilson's team. Williams racked up eight receptions for 115 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Herriman takes on second place Olympus. The Mustangs fell to Skyline last week, while Olympus beat Murray.
Next week's game between the Eagles and Hillcrest will feature a tantalizing aerial matchup as Snyder tests his arm against Dillon Nordhoff's defensive ability. Skyline's Snyder has thrown for 686 yards and five touchdowns this year, while Nordhoff has racked up four interceptions for the Huskies.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and Hillcrest face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Skyline comes in having scored 111 this season, while Casey Miller's team has scored 102. The Eagles scored 24 points last week as they topped Herriman.
The Mustangs suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 24-22 loss to Skyline. Herriman had been ranked 24th, but fell to 31 following the defeat.
