Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators walked away with it. They snuck past the Patriots with a 33-29 win on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Gulf Pointe Latin sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Gulf Pointe Latin was led to victory by Holland Hamer and Kaitlyn Lothringer. Hamer scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Lothringer scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Hamer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played.
Gulf Pointe Latin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
Gulf Pointe Latin won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Florida Baptist Academy at 3:00 p.m. on February 10th. Gulf Pointe Latin's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so West Florida Baptist Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. Calvary Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
