On Northside's side, Rowan Yen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Taft's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Northside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will face off against Lake Forest Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside, they will head out on the road to take on Whitney Young at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
